December 14, 201213 yr This was a re-install! Installed into C:\ MSGames\FSX. Observed all the "rules" viz: Disabled UAC/AVAST and Microsoft Security Essentials/ usedCustom Install/All Users Again oberved all the rules prior and during install SP1 and 2. Installed FSUIPC..rules ditto Everything in FSX itself worked...... 0K! I installed two of my favourite GA aircraft... OK. I then installed FSC; again observing all the "rules" and this seemed to go without any hitch. However, although I Had all the features present on FSC MAP view, no aircraft appeared at my airfield location and I had no GPS . I was also unable to build the FSX database. I carried out a full uninstall of FSC and tried again, double checking execution of all "the rules" Same result. I was forced to conclude the fault lay in FSX. IE:No communication channel between the two programs. Going over my notes made during FSX install I discovered I had missed the "right click to install as Administrator". Having uninstalled "everything FSX/addons etc" I have tried FSX re-install.When I reach the "wizard" ,"Install" window I find my right click on the "Install" button does not activate the command.??? I have picked up an old post in the "AVSIM" forum which includes the comment that in WIN 7, 64bit OS it is not necessary to follow the "right click" command if UAC is disabled. Is this correct? If it MUST be followed; what am I doing wrong. missed? my regards ANAMIV
December 15, 201213 yr If you are logged in with full sdmin rights, the right click is not required. UAC is not a problem for FSX IF it is installed in it's own folder, or better yet, on a seperate hard drive/SSD. Default location is ok if you are not going to install any add-ons. Dave
