Black screen on FSX "alt tab" or options

Featured Replies

Black screen after alt tab out of FSX or go in to settings from a loaded flight.

I tried everything like alt +enter, task manager, switch to task, close explorer, go out to blue screen and back. I have the latest drivers, bios for every hardware on my computer. I'm connected to my TV through HMDI can that be the problem?

Yesterday I tried to do a flight ESSA-EGLL, first I could not hear the warnings when FO did his tests, so I went in to sound and changed soundcard, then continued to start up, push back, taxi, take off, reach cruising LVL then I forgot to enable the disable winds and thermal effects on the AC, so I went back to options, after that when i tried to return first time I could only see the edges of every instrument onboard

the rest was invisible, then the screen became totally black after trying to go out then in again.

Is there something that works every time?

I use AS12, UT2, Fs2crew button, FSC9

Souns like FSX is running on too high settings or have a badly tweaked fsx.cfg. Need more info on your setup.

Simmerhead - Making the virtual skies unsafe since 1987!

Add this to your FSX.cfg it will solve the problem.

If the above does not solve your problem, try this :-

When you do your ALT+ENTER and get the black screen, immediately then press CTRL+ALT+DEL, then press Cancel.

I get this problem too (ATI issue I think for me), and this works perfectly for me.

In that case no, I'm not using ENB... OR? in that post says something of two files.

I use Acitve Sky 2012 which also adds graphics and weather but it s not made to have flashing FPS

I don't have much problem with the performance I have under 30Fps but its fluent and I use all add-ons you see in signature except rex + essential and overdrive. That only thing I did to the computer recently had changed my OS 7200rpm sata 2 with CSSD Corsair Force GT 240GB drive, updating motherboard Bios and Graphic card bios.

Normally I don't have any problems since I usually don't go out since I start but I was experiencing some wind shifts so I had to go to options, funny thing is it worked when I was in sound, option but then second time I had to go out completely and I had a black screen

I usually had that added but pmdg said it was not really necessary, so I haven't add it since i reinstalled OS and FSX

/\ /\ /\ . I honestly don't think it's that.

Have you tried, pressing CTRL+ALT+DEL just after the CTRL+ENTER yet (to go to the Task Manager), then just hit cancel. It forces a hard refresh of your GPU and will often resolve the issue are seeing; especially with ATI cards.
