December 19, 201213 yr Hi guys, I have had OpusFSX running for a few days and I'm now playing around with the views. I read something about saving and restoring panel positions, even undocked Windows even though I have to undock them myself. I have a touchscreen monitor on which I want to put the CDU from the NGX in a separate window from P3D (running in windowed mode). I set up the panel as I wanted and clicked save window positions (or whatever it was). The question is how do I restore it? Simply clicking restore Windows does not help. Bringing up the panel and undocking it and then clicking restore Windows doesn't seem to work either. Could anyone please point me in the right direction for getting this to work? It is not a big deal, but it would shave 15 seconds off of my start-up procedure :-) Thanks. Frank Olaf Sem-Jacobsen
December 20, 201213 yr Commercial Member Hi Frank Did you create the CDU window within OpusFSX as a windowed camera view? It won't work if you just create the view via FSX instead of Live Camera. I wasn't sure if you had done that. Regards Cheryl
December 20, 201213 yr Author I see. I did it within p3d. I thought the opusfsx windowed views only were for 3d views. I also understood from the manual that I had to undock manually, so I assumed that this was the right way. Frank Olaf Sem-Jacobsen
December 20, 201213 yr Commercial Member Please read the Live Camera guide you will find a pretty good description of Windowed Views in there and how LC helps configure them. But yes, you have to undock them manually it is impossible to do that in the software, it is all described well in the manual. With windowed views, because of the lack of support for them or their control within FSX you really should understand their configuration in order to use them. Regards Stephen
December 20, 201213 yr Author I still don't quite get it. You say you have to find the windowed view in the main view and the check the "windowed" box. But how do you get the main view to be the 2d view of the CDU? It will always pop up as a separate docked window, not as the main one... Frank Olaf Sem-Jacobsen
December 21, 201213 yr Commercial Member Please read and re-read the Live Camera document, it is all described in great detail in there. There is very little support for Windowed views within FSX/P3D so you MUST understand them to be able to use them ... it is all described quite clearly in the manual where you will find all your questions answered. But as a hint ... FSX only allows the eye point to be adjusted in ite MAIN viewing window, so this is why you edit the view there, then when finished the LC reconfigures your aircraft.cfg files to allow the view you have just created to be displayed as a Windowed view. You must force FSX to reload this cfg file, then after the windowed view is displayed you must undock it (the software can not do this), but after resizing and positioning the view you may use the Save and Restore Opus options to remember the window's display and save you having to size/position it each time. But make sure you read and inwardly digest the details in the LC manual, you will need to understand Windowed views before you start configuring and using them. Regards Stephen
