August 3, 200421 yr When using the Kittyhawk 737 (both -700 and -800), I try to adjust the weight and balance because it is constantly over gross. When reducing the payload and fuel, it will reduce the weight, but when I click "ok", FS2004 just closes completely. I will restart it, but same thing. Any suggestions?
August 3, 200421 yr The flight dynamics that were released with those aircraft were for FS2002 (the older models from last year). The new dynamics were not ready yet. Keep an eye on SGA's forum for a new set of dynamics to be released very soon. They will be for the 700, 800 and BBJ. In the meantime, remove all the station loads from the weight section and just leave one (station load 0) and sett all the following numbers to 0,0,0,0,. This will temporarily fix the problem.
August 3, 200421 yr Kirk, That is the problem; when I try to adjust the load for the plane, and hit "ok", FS closes unexpectedly and doesn't make the changes. hmmm..
August 4, 200421 yr >Kirk, >That is the problem; when I try to adjust the load for the>plane, and hit "ok", FS closes unexpectedly and doesn't make>the changes. hmmm..Sorry, I should've explained in better detail. You need to open your aircraft config file and make those changes in the weight&balance section, NOT FS. Then load up FS and the aircraft and all will be fine. The problem is that FS9 only recognises a limited amount of station loads, anything beyond that limit, and FS will crash. So you can no longer place precise loads in specific locations like we used to in the older versions of the sim. In the older versions, we used to be able to put in loads for literally each passenger in each seat. Not anymore. Now everything has to be combined into sections of the aircraft to accomodate the limits of FS.So here, open up your AIRCRAFT CONFIG and copy the following and paste into the weight section overwriting the old. This by the way is the newest for the upcoming FD upgrade being released (this is for the 700 series only btw);reference_datum_position= 0.00,0.00,0.00empty_weight_CG_position= 0.00,0.00,0.00max_number_of_stations= 10station_load.0= "0, 48.50, 0.00, 4.00,FlghtCrew x2"station_load.1= "0, 44.00, 2.00, 4.00,Fwd Galley"station_load.2= "0, 40.00,-2.00, 4.00,FCbnCrew x 2"station_load.3= "0, 30.00, 0.00, 4.00,FrwdPas x 24"station_load.4= "0, 25.00, 0.00,-1.00,FCrgBge x 66"station_load.5= "0, 10.00, 0.00, 4.00,MidPass x 58"station_load.6= "0,-10.00, 0.00,-1.00,ACrgBge x 80"station_load.7= "0,-20.00, 0.00, 4.00,AftPass x 58"station_load.8= "0,-22.50,-2.00, 4.00,ACbnCrew x 2"station_load.9= "0,-25.00, 0.00, 4.00,Aft Galley"empty_weight= 83000empty_weight_roll_MOI= 1401400empty_weight_pitch_MOI= 1580000empty_weight_yaw_MOI= 1500000empty_weight_coupled_MOI= 1000max_gross_weight= 155000It's configured for 140 passengers and 6 crew. When you load the aircraft in FS, go to the load editor and put in the appropriate weights for each catagory. An average weight for each person would be 170-180 and 50-60 pounds baggage per person. For the galleys, use your own discretion, I usually put in 500 for the forward galley and 800 for the rear.If I get out of my "lazy" mode, then I'll be finally uploading the new files by sometime this weekend along with some repaints I've done. Let me know if all is working now or not.
August 4, 200421 yr Author A-ha! And the whole time I thought it was my computer being screwy with the Kittyhawk aircraft lol. Thank you for the info there!George
