    All kinds of stuff :)
  1. Alrighty, I'll have him try that out. Thanks again!
  2. Hello everyone,Thanks so much for the responses, and they were very helpful. Unfortunately, we had already selected the "show hidden files" option, and there was still no FSX.cfg. We did check that the path was correct (C:Documents and Settingsuser nameApplication DataMicrosoftFSX) - but there was no cfg file to be found. Even after doing a Windows file search, nothing turned up. Any other suggestions? Thanks again,
  3. ...Good day everyone,a friend of mine recently installed FSX, and wanted to install FS9 aircraft. After reading an article in Computer Pilot magazine, he found an excellent article on how to do that. The thing is, it requires a change to the fsx.cfg file. I came over to help out with that, but neither of us (even after a file search and following all instructions given by the magazine) can actually find the said file! There's a scenery.cfg and oldscenery.cfg, but no fsx.cfg. Has anyone else run into this problem? And if so, can you point us in the right direction? Thanks,
  4. Well, expensive as it is, I splurged and bought it - the Dash 8-300 is probably my favorite aircraft, and I couldn't bear not to have it lol. That said, I am very much impressed with the performance, the visual model (I'm a stickler for eye candy) and especially the SOUNDS!!! wow!!! I think the sounds alone would be worth at least half that price, considering accurate turboprop sounds (specific to a certain engine) are extremely hard to come by. My only issue (and I'm not sure if anyone else has this problem) is that after installing the version with just 2-d cockpit and wing views, the only livery I got was Tyrolean. I was of the impression that 6 liveries came with the package. Anyone else encounter this?
  5. I agree, the freeware version is excellent, but admittedly, I'm a big fan of eye candy as well as functionality. I was shocked to see such an accurate and detailed visual model on the payware version (and it appears the cockpit will be much easier to read on this one, another plus!). So I'm definitely excited about it.
  6. Thank you both for your responses; they were very helpful. I see the project is coming along nicely! I'll definitely try to be first in line upon its release. Cheers,
  7. Good day everyone,I saw some excellent previews of Fanda's upcoming Dash 8-300 (payware) on their site some months back, but since then the site has been down and I haven't heard anything else from the group. Does anyone have any information about it? How the project is coming along, costs, possible release soon, etc? Any information will be appreciated. Thanks,George
  8. You're correct, UT does compile it by itself - once you click the "compile" button and choose the areas around the world that you would like UT to activate. My AA is activated, and I set traffic to 100%, but still, no AA at MIA or anywhere else (I flew MIA - NAS, and there was other traffic, but no AA Eagle, which is odd since they have many flights a day and chances are one would be there).
  9. That could be the problem; the updates section, however, isn't working at the moment. Perhaps at some point it'll come back and I'll check then. Thanks for all your help!
  10. Thanks, Odaat. As far as international traffic goes, I will check that out. As for the percentage, mine was set at 90%. I would imagine that even some AA aircraft would appear. I'll try again and see what happens. Cheers,George
  11. Hello,I recently purchased UT and installed it. After compiling all flight plans for AI using UT, I noticed that quite a few airlines aren't showing up - American, for example. Did I do something wrong? I flew to MIA and there were no AA aircraft. I would've posted on UT's forum, but it's down at the moment. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks,George
  12. Good day everyone,My apologies if this is the incorrect forum to post repaint requests, but I'd really like to see the Beech 1900C painted up in the following livery, if possible:Gulfstream Int'l:http://www.airliners.net/open.file/075840/L/ http://www.airliners.net/open.file/144264/L/ If anyone can, I'd definitely appreciate it! Thanks for reading,George
  13. Could be a tough question to answer - it's kind of like comparing apples to oranges; both are good, but they are not much alike. The same can be said of turboprop and jet fans. Personally, I prefer the ATR (also, I don't own the Feelthere ERJ) - but I also have a bias towards turboprops. I have yet to learn more about the FMS (which, I believe, is common to both models), but the experience has overall been very impressive. I enjoy flying Dreamwings' ERJ once in a while as well, and coupled with Bill Grabowski's panel, it's an excellent freeware package. If you're a big fan of both props and jets, perhaps you should try both packages ;)George
  14. Most SGA Aircraft(if not all) have been uploaded either to Flightsim or Simviation (www.flightsim.com www.simviation.com). You may find some repaints here at Avsim, but to obtain the base packs/sound packs your best bet would be to visit one of the above mentioned sites. Hope that helps,George
