September 29, 201015 yr Hi all,I tried a search regarding this issue, but nothing too helpful came out of it. I recently installed a new AFCAD for the default FS9 KSEA scenery, which includes the new runway 34L/16R. I tried taking off from runway 34R/16L and saw that the runway seemed to 'float' slightly above ground level. So, when I would taxi onto the runway, the runway appeared to slide across the ground. Is there a fix for this? With the previous AFCAD file, the runway stayed put. I suppose I can try to contact the author of the file, but if there's a quick fix (perhaps something to flatten?), I'd rather go that route. Thanks for your help!George

Thanks for your help!GeorgeIt would help if you gave us the name (or a link to it) of the afcad file you downloaded so one of us can get it and see if we have the issue also.It would also be good to know if you have any terrain enhancement for the Seattle area installed (mesh).Such details always help those who may be able to help you.
September 30, 201015 yr Author Hey there David, sorry about that. I found the file on Avsim, and the file name is ksea_afcad_279697.zip by Alex McKnight. It was added very recently (end of August). As for mesh, everything else in that area is default. The only enhancements I've made to my landclass is the Caribbean. I've never added anything beyond the default to the continental US.

September 30, 201015 yr May I suggest an alternative.Go to http://www.scruffyduck.org.uk/filemanager/navega.php?PHPSESSID=9f453e430ed30ed93735c4d91a08404e&dir=.%2FFS9%20Airports and download Jim Vile's excellent Afcad for KSEA. It not only has the 3rd runway, it also addresses the "floating" runway and includes approaches for the new runway.regards,Joe The best gift you can give your children is your time.
