two questions

Featured Replies

1. Now there is two menu items when I right click on screen Opus FSX External view and Opus FSX Aircraft View, must I keep these menus or can they be removed and still have program installed and work with the cameras application? Also, F12 does not show top down view anymore can that be returned?

2. On 500 miles flight, can I make opus only update weather once half way through flight so when I reach near destination I don't have change of clouds blink?

Hi Fritz

1. For correct operation your views should cycle (S key) between,

VC - Spot - Tower - Aircraft - External

You should also make sure you have not hidden any of these views by setting their CycleHidden field to Yes. For correct operation each of these view types must be set as CycleHidden=No.

We don't reassign any keys but we added an external view after top down so the view sequence has changed.

To get the top down view use 'S' followed by 'Shift-A'. After that you only have to press Shift-S to get back to the VC and S again for the top down view. Alternatively you can create your own top down view in Live Camera and assign it to another key (e.g. F12 after removing it from the FSX assignments).

N.B If you are using TrackIR then by default it re-assigns the F12 key to its center view function, other 3rd party packages may reassign keys too.

2. Some people disable updates for short flights and that is fine but I would recommend setting the update rate no more than the default 80km since FSX morphs the weather beyond that, unless you don't mind that inaccuracy. After 250km the weather would need updating anyway since you would be getting to the edge of the OpusFSX weather map.

Thank you for the immediate reply! I'm still not understanding if I can not have those menus appear in my right click items anymore and still have function of opus cameras. When I right click, I see a new menu item "OpusFSX External View" and inside Aircraft is "OpusFSX Aircraft View". My question would be do those menus have to be there or can this return to the way it was before install opusfsx w/o those new menus and still have opus work correct.

Thank you for explaining the update 80miles, I have this set as the default since install and has not changed.

Hi Fritz

We don't handle the mouse so all the standard FSX functions can be used such as FSX mouse look.

You can try the cameras in the demo version.
