December 29, 201213 yr any way to delete saved flights ? also, the vfp came up without my having to enter a frequency into the nav window in the vfp menu, vfp lesson says you have to tune a nav radio to the navigation facility: did it tune it in automatically ? does vfp go all the way to destination ? thanks i didn't set-up a flight plan for this flight: how do i find out what the destination is ? thanks
December 29, 201213 yr You can delete saved flights either in the FS9 Create/Select a flight menu system or directly from your hard disk. If you are using Windows 7 then saved flights are stored at C:\Users\"Your Name"\Documents\Flight Simulator Files. I can't help you with your other questions as I don't recognise "vpf". David
December 29, 201213 yr If you saved the flight yourself then yes, navigate to the location where you saved it and right click and delete. If this was saved as the 'default flight' then start FS9, select the default C172, select the location, KSEA; active runway, select weather theme; Fair Weather and select a time of day, day, month of your liking. Then above and left of the aircraft (Cessna 172 rotating picture) click on "Save Flight....." at the bottom of the sub menu that opens put a check in "Make this the default flight" box and click on "OK". Next part: I think you should please clarify "vfp" I'm not sure what you mean. If you mean "VOR" and you are going through the FS9 Lessons then there will be no flight plan(s) as such. Again, if you are flying one of the default lessons then yes the NAV frequency for the VOR may have been tuned for you or not. If the text part of the lesson did not state a destination airport then you'll be flying a 'circuit' in other words landing at the airport you left from or directed to an airport or place from a specific starting point other than a airport, such as the example below. For example: Lesson 3: VOR Navigation; The flight is set up as follows; altitude = 4000 ft; heading = 17 deg; NAV1 set to 110.6, NAV1 standby 111.0, NAV2 set to 116.8 ,NAV2 standby 113.9; etc, etc and at; Latitude=N047° 47' 37.4436 by Longitude=W122° 20' 48.5829. that places you 21.5nm north of KSEA with KPAE Snohomish Co. visible out of the left side of the front panel view. NAV1 110.6 is the VOR/DME for KPAE with a range of 60nm and NAV2 116.8 is the VOR/DME for KSEA withe a range of 195nm. So in this case, depending on what the lesson's text instructions dictate - go to KSEA (example) then you would tune NAV1 standby to 116.8 then swap that to NAV1 active, set the heading on OBS1 and set your heading bug (autopilot on?) or fly to the heading of OBS1. A most polite and well intentioned suggestion would be that when all else fails reread the instructions of the lesson. Regards, Mel
