FS9 SBuilder Photo Tiles ?

Featured Replies

Hi Folks,

My project has working photo real changing seasons - courtesy of SBuilder... The problem I am having - is that SBuilder puts my photo textures in my "scenery/world/texture" directory... I would rather have these included with my local "addon" scenery texture directory for my project instead of placing them in the default FS9 texture directory... If I move these textures to my project texture folder FS9 crashes whenever I try to start a flight in the area... Is there anyway I can specify for SBuilder to place the textures with my project ???

Regards,

Scott

Bit of a late reply, but I am working with photo tiles now and having woes of my own. About to post about high res phot issues.

It is an irritation, but it seems to be an fs thing. VTP photo tiles need to be there. Other photo scenery provided with addons in other texture folders must be photo scenery by a different way, not vtp, which I think is the sims internal efficient way of displaying things, so it is hard wired to look in certain places for the bits it needs.

someone with more knowledge will explain it better.

Found an answer to my high res photo issue at sbuilder forum, that maybe also sheds some light on this.

For the high res to show correctly, it appears I need to make a mesh first so sbuilder can reference it to place the photos in correct location. It does not just lay the pictures ontop of whatever mesh fs is using.

VTP scenery must just lay it ontop, so is a more default fs situation, hence the tiles need to be in a default folder location for fs to find them.

Stabbing around in the dark here, but it seems a reasonable explanation.

Hi Mole,

Sorry - missed your response - thanks so much...

Yeah - been thinking of trying my hand at creating a mesh - question - do you know or think autogen work on top of Hi-Res Photo on a Custom Mesh ? I've exhausted all my attempts to get autogen to show up on VTP Pollys - I just don't think it is possible...

Scott
