Just curious if anyone experiences Modem (or router) beeping? I have cable modem, connected through a hardware router firewall. Could this be someone trying to ping others in the area to multiplay? This is annoying;Anyone know how to disable all multi-play features if that is the cause? This PC is used almost exclusively for MS Flight Sim, and pings only happen when flying. I keep all cookies cleaned out, and "services" to a minimum. Any helpful ideas appreciated! Thanks, Bill

It makes an actual beeping sound? I've never heard of a cable modem or router do that...are you sure it isn't a UPS?

Yes it actually does - every once in a while like it is being "interrogated". Not sure if it is the router - Microsoft ethernet wired, or Modem - Toshiba pcx2200. I don't have a UPS.I think in my FS9 Config file I keyed in some invalid port address to try to outsmart it. Now am tryinhg to "comment out" the multi-play lines. No offense to those who do, but I have no desire to multiplay.Thanks, Bill.
