Well I got FS Cabin Crew last night. When I get into cruise it says to turn off the fasten seatbelt sign in order for them to say the cruise message. I tried turning it off but that was unsuccessful in yielding the message. Is the chime button really an on/off switch for the sound or is it something else, I checked the PMDG manuals and couldn't figure it out. Is there anybody with the program that can help me with this?

I'd check with whoever wrote that FS Cabin Crew program, to be honest.

But either way, is chime just the sound or is it something more important that i would need to know?

 

Chime is just the sound, correct. Most airlines have the no smoking permanently wired on, and the chime replacing the original switch just creates an audible ding.
