600 crash

Recommended Posts

I have a problem with the 600. I have uninstalled and reinstalled it more than once. I have made sure all updates are applied. If I start a flight loading the 900, wait until loaded and stable, then switch to the 600, FSX goes graphics wacky and locks up. I've implemented all Kostas's recommendations plus the PMDG setup recommendations as well. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

According to Ryan from PMDG, you should never load one type of NGX model, then directly switch to a different model. It often won't initialize properly the second time, which can cause a variety of problems and possible crashes. Better to start FSX fresh, and directly load the specific NGX model you want to use.

If you want to change to a different NGX model, you should first exit FSX, then restart it and load the NGX.

Does the same happen if you only load up the 600? From my experience, PMDG aircraft don't load very well on top of each other. I would recommend shutting down FSX (Ctrl+C) before loading another aircraft. This way FSX won't go wonky when choosing another aircraft.

Now that you mention that, I do remember reading that early in the program. I tried it and based on one session, it solves my immediate problem. Thanks. That's what these forums are for.
