August 10, 200421 yr Tail between my legs confessions:1. First of all, this is the Dreamfleet 737-400/FFX merge in FS9 which I realize is not really supported, but hopefully somebody among the AvSim masses has found the solution to this and I sure would appreciate it if you would share it with me.2. Second: Sometime in the past, I believe I solved this problem, but I cannot for the life of me remember what the solution is now. It may have been in FS2002, not FS9. it has been too long ago and has been filed in my senior moment hanger.3. Third: I realize there are many other posts regarding this issue. I have tried to read all of them but I am afraid I have overlooked the answer to the problem if it is there. The primary answer I find seems to be that a registered version of fsuipc is required. I have version 3.3 and the window does confirm that it is a registered version in my name. I have also tried several older versions as well thinking maybe that was the solution. As per the many posts, with fsuipc disabled there is no problem. Course can be set and there is no set heading/banking problem at all as mentioned below. (10 degree setting limitation)Everything works like a charm with the exception of the fact that course selection has no affect, and autopilot heading selection is very sloppy. I have found that I can add Cessna's VOR-1 to the panel, and set course that way just fine, but there is a side issue that bugs me a little more than course selection. In Heading Select on the AutoPilot the initiation of a bank is very sluggish. I can help it manually with the yoke and and it will roll out on the selected heading. This only happens with a set heading. Nav and ILS banking to a heading is very decisive with no problem as is manual control.Anybody else been down this road and know what I am overlooking? Thanks:RTH
August 11, 200421 yr How do you get the DF B734 to work in FS9? Is there a link to a "how to"?Thanks, Bruce. ASEL, Instrument. KBJC, Colorado.
August 11, 200421 yr Author Bruce:1st of course you will install the Dreamfleet 737-400 into FS9.You need to obtain DF-FFX-Merge.zipAs far as I know the only way to obtain the files and procedure is directly from Peter Mcleland, the kind defeloper. My understanding for this procedure is as follows:1. Go to http://www.flight1.com/ (Note you may have to open an account (free)2. Click on Support pages3. Select "Greatest Airliners the 737-400"4. Click on Select Support for Selected Product5. Click on http://www.flight1.com/view.asp?page=737updates6. Click on Dreamfleet 2000 forum7. Post your request for the Dreamfleet 737-400/FFX Merge the next time Peter sends out an email of the files.I was lucky enough to have obtained a copy on a post from somewhere months if not years ago. I have no idea now what that source was and do not know if it even exists or not. In fact, I think I will do the same thing that you are doing and request one directly from Peter myself in the event mine has any holes in it.If you will review the posts (search for FFX Merge) on this forum, you will see that Peter explains his procedure for issuing his work. My understanding is that he waits for a while until he has several and emails the whole bunch at the same time for understandable reasons so be patient.Don't forget to give him your email address. Frankly, this is still one of my favorite birds even with my course selection hiccup.Good luck.RTHEditPS: Bruce, if all else fails, I will be happy to send you a copy of what I have if you will give me your email address.
August 11, 200421 yr Here is a link to Peter's website where he keeps the latest merge files and info. You have to read ALL the documents or it won't work.http://petersfiles.o-connor.net/logbook/logbook_021.htmI've done the merge but since you have to do an edit alteration of fsuipc.ini to make it think its running fs2002 it caused to many problems for me running other FS9 programs dependent on fsuipc. Just wasn't worth all the trouble. Not when I still have FS2002 installed and can fly the DF737 and my PIC767 as they were built and intended to operate. I will now do a merge only if it's an improvement. Not a compromise.Willhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/ng_driver.jpg
August 11, 200421 yr Thanks guys. Sounds like a few issues to be worked out, but I agree- this bird (originally for FS2000) is one of the best.Bruce. ASEL, Instrument. KBJC, Colorado.
August 12, 200421 yr Author Sorry folks:Direct short between the ears. Everything works perfectly now.I have no idea when and how this happened, but after careful examination of my panel.cfg file found that I had two line numbers duplicated (two lines with the same number).I apologize for taking your time.RTH
