FS9 777 Problem

Featured Replies

Newbie here. This has probably been covered a thousand times, but I haven't found the thread yet. When flying the 777, it usually stalls on me around the 30,000 foot mark (I'm usually on autopilot at this point). EPR drops way down during the climb. I can get it up to cruise around 36,000 to 40k, but I have to do so at about 200 fpm climb and then when I get to cruise altitude, the plane flys with the nose pitched up several degrees while maintaining altitude. Is this a bug or just a stupid pilot? Also, I can't for the life of me get pushback to work properly. Specifically, hitting 1 or 2 has no effect on the tail movement.Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I never fly the default 777 because it looks so ugly and has fairly unrealistic flight dynamics. Better try the Meljet 777 series. You can find them in the libary. If fully loaded the plane won't climb fast anymore at those altitudes. If you are on Autopilot, the AP tries to hold your settings. That means if you set the climbrate V/S to high value like 3000 FPM for example the speed will drop, to keep the climbrate the AOA (angle of attack) has to be increased. A larger AOA=more drag=airspeed drops faster.:-) You get the picture, at the end you'll likely stall the aircraft. For pushpack press shift+p (default key assignment), the plane should start to roll backwards now. To make turns press 1 or 2 on the keyboard not on the numberblock. Don't press any other key or change views between the shift+p and number command. The plane will pushback and back a turn after about 10 seconds.Hope that helps,cheers,:-beerchug Claudio:-)

<<<>>Real airliners do cruise with a slight nose-up attitudeI dont have a figure to give u though, perhaps a real-life Boeing, Airbus or Ilyushin driver on here can tell us that :)

There is a file in the library here which has improved flight dynamics for the 777. I haven't tried it, but it is supposed to be a big improvement. Also, when climbing, take only the fuel you need and make sure you are not overweight. Step climb if you need to. For example, cruise at 30,000 ft and burn some fuel. As you get lighter, climb some more, etc.
