January 7, 201313 yr I recently made a complete reinstallation of Windows 7 along with FS9 and all my addons and I'm now experiencing a very strange problem connected to the V-sync tweak (1/2 refresh rate). I had no problems at all before the reinstallation. What happens is that i have freezes and stutters when i chnage view direction in the 2D panel, and the FPS seems to be a bit unstable. All other views, including VC, is working fine. This is only happening when the V-sync tweak is applied. I have tried three different versions of Nvidia Inspector and a couple of different Nvidia Drivers. Does anyone know what is wrong?
January 7, 201313 yr Can you attatch your fsx.cfg here as "Prop_cfg.txt" and a screenshot of your Inspector - then we can see the whole thing. January 7, 201313 yr Hi Propellor: Copy and rename your fs9.cfg as "Prop_fs9.txt", and attach it to the post using the "More Reply Options", (bottom right) as those in your post aren't the most important sections/parameters. What Vsync tweak are you referring to? Your Inspector looks fine, but there are a number of newer NVidia driver versions available. I have already tried the newest driver and a few other but there was no difference. As I mentioned, it worked perfectly before the reinstallation and I have the same tweaks applied to the fs9.cfg as before (I have also deleted it many times and started from a default cfg file). I am doing everything the same way as I did before when it worked. I did note now that this problem is not connected to FS9 only. I installed FSX and the same thing occurs. I also see a short short drop in FPS when I change view direction in the 2D cockpit and when going from external view to 2D cockpit. This seems to be why the stuttering and freezes occur. The V-sync tweak I am reffering to is when setting 1/2 refresh rate in Nvidia Inspector, 60 Hz refresh rate for the monitor and 30 FPS locked in FS.
January 7, 201313 yr OK. One thing we found with DX10 was adding "DisablePreload=1" to the [Main] section fixed vsync without having to resort to adding "ForceFullScreenVSync=1" to the [Graphics] section - this in addition to the "Standard" and "1/2 Refresh Rate". This is in FSX,, but don't know about FS9. i7 [email protected] | 32GB RAM | EVGA RTX 3080Ti | Maximus Hero VII | 512GB 860 Pro | 512GB 850 Pro | 256GB 840 Pro | 2TB 860 QVO | 1TB 870 EVO | Seagate 3TB Cloud | EVGA 1000 GQ | Win10 Pro | EK Custom water cooling.
