August 12, 200421 yr My old card apparently doesn't support it...Also, what settings must be on for it to work?thanks,Andrew H e l p k e e p A V S I M f l y i n g
August 12, 200421 yr FS9 uses the DirectX 8 API for it's graphics. You must have a DirectX 8 video card to see the water reflections. On the Display settings page, the "Water Effects" slider must be set on "High".Cheers,Greg

August 12, 200421 yr Author Thanks guys.It's funny - I'm using an old card.. really old, like 6 years - I'm sure it doesn't support DX9, but I've got the latest drivers and it's working fine. Not necessarily running everything FS9 has to offer, but it's working. Although I am running out of video memory relatively quickly. (32)Better than with my DX7 drivers, that's for sure.CheersAndrew H e l p k e e p A V S I M f l y i n g
August 12, 200421 yr There's more to it than just updating DirectX. Older cards don't support all the functions in the version of DirectX - 8 onwards, I think - that enables these water textures. Thus if you have a GeForce 2, for example, forget it. You can set your sliders, but you'll see them jump back to the left automatically!Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumonthttp://www.swiremariners.com/newlogo.jpg _________________________ Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumont VP Fleet, DC-3 Airways Team Member, MAAM-SIM
