Unable to read text in green window

Featured Replies

Hi all

After a year I've reinstalled FS9 and all the addons I had. This includes RC4 with the 4.2 update.

I downloaded the latest version of FSUIPC and Makerwys and installed them.

But now I have a problem where I can't read what's inside the green window in FS9 after I start RC4. In the link you can see what I mean.

When I press 1 or 2, it works as I get clearance and here pre-recorded AI chatter.

Anyone can help? I've searched but can't seem to find someone with a similar problem.

Thanks!

It does not look like you are using a RC on a networked client to a PC host via WideFS.

Unless you need it for another application in your modules folder rename advdisplay.dll to advdisplay.dlh. FSUIPC now provides that display. Be sure in the FSUIPC general tab multiline messages are enabled. By default you will have red text in this new blue transparent window. If you want white characters backup fsuipc.ini to your documents folder. then in the modules folder edit fsuipc.ini with notepad or wordpad, etc., to add the following line to its General section:

WhiteMessages=Yes

You really should update to RC version 4.3845. As a 4.2 user there should be a free upgrade. Send your registered user name and the e-mail address you ordered from plus your current e-mail address to [email protected] subject RC version and user update. By return e-mail you'll get a download link. The information in the e-mail you send in will enable jd to update the user information in the database and autoregistration for a new key should then work for you. Be sure jdtllc.com is allowed through your pc and ISP spam filters.

After installing RC4.3 and activating the registration to finish installing, you will need to reinstall the current fsuipc and makerwys again in case they are overwritten, and then rebuild your scenery database.

Don't forget to request the update link for 4.3845. There are significant improvements.

Will do!

Quick other question: I also use FsPassengers and if for example it says "all passengers aboard" it shows in the same window as RC. After the message appeared, the green window completely disappears. If then I press a number to adress RC, it re-appears. I don't remember I had this problem last year, is it perhaps a wrong setting?

Sorry for double post, don't know how to edit my previous post.

I solved it, but now a new question pops up. Can I let the window disappear and appear whenever I want by pressing a button?

Thanks!

Yes. In the non-user paid version of fsuipc as registered by RC you need to manually edit the General section of fsuipc.ini. I use Ctrl-X key combo. For that add:

AdvDisplayHotKey=88,10

That still controls the fsuipc\RC window even though advdisplay.dll is no longer used and must be disabled.

If you need to use a different key combo see the fsuipc advanced users guide for keyboard codes.

If you have the user paid register function, there is a tab for assigning functions including and beyond FS hotkey functions to keyboard macros or controller buttons.

Either way the key combo acts as a toggle to show and hide the dialog. If RC does issue commands, however, the dialog window will show on its own.

Thanks!
