Hello all-

 

Newbie to the site since I have not had FS game since 2002 came out. Anyways I have browsed over various posts on this and other sites and cant seem to get a consensus on compatibility for Windows 8, as well as a clean set of install (specific to W8) install instructions to avoid these dreaded error codes. Some seem to have issues, some not, and I am by no means a computer expert, not to mention the learning curve when I go from XP to Windows 8 on the new laptop.

 

 

My new "midlevel" laptop:

 

3rd Gen Intel® Core™ i5-3210M processor

 

6GB RAM (expandable to 8)

 

Intel HD 4000 graphics

 

Just looking for a maybe a little direction on any install tips, or even weather you think it is worth it to try on this system?

Hi.

Just thought I'd encourage you, in case you're still in doubt. Your rig will do fine - not all setting will have to be maxed. And Windows 8 makes the whole show run faster and smother - loading for instance, especially if you have RAM that size. I have 4 Gb on a 32-system.
