January 16, 201313 yr hey simmers, i am using Opus some time now and i have to say that this addon is one of the best i own. now as you can see in the vid below at around 2 min in the vid, i am on final app with an nice headwind of 5 knots. around 30 seconds later this all changes ... now i have a crosswind of 25 knots! it is pushing the plane to the left and screws up the actual landing itself. i got the latest version of opus installed and did a fresh install twice now. Anyone else has this problem aswell or has an answer. ty and greetings!
January 16, 201313 yr I use REX Essential Plus for my weather. Since reinstalling my entire FSX softwware/add-ons to a new SSD drive I have the same problem. On final at maybe 1000 feet (not sure), the GA plane violently lurches both vertically and laterally. I can usually recover but it ruins the emersion. I don't recall having this problem in my previous install. Probably should have listened to the old adage...if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Ronnie Pertuit

January 16, 201313 yr Author Have you specified your destination ICAO? Have you disabled weather update on approach? What height is your forced recovery set to if enabled? i did set my ICAO (EGKK) and my cruise Alt disabled weather update on approach is set and my forced recovery is at 12000.
January 16, 201313 yr Commercial Member Thanks for the info. From the video it looks like it could have been caused by a lot of rudder input which would be tied into your nosewheel steering, or perhaps it was a wind gust, do you think this may be the case? You didn't seem to have any wind shift problems that threw the aircraft off course from what I could see in the video. Regards Cheryl
January 17, 201313 yr Commercial Member The disable update on approach could have timed out, the default setting is 10 mins, but I'm not sure if a weather update was the cause of your problem or not.
