Bumpy flight: Dynamic Head Movement but NGX lying still

Featured Replies

Stephen, Cheryl,

I am just cruising CYHZ-WJA229-CYYC heading North West to the Hudson Bay (flight plan from todays flightaware.com) and it is quite bumpy... at least the Dynamic Head Movement is enabled and the pilots (me) experience a jerky flight. That's ok since

shows that I am approaching a jetstream emerging at the Hudson Bay's Southern tip.

However, my passengers looking out of their windows can enjoy the flight more, because nothing is jerking at all.

I assume that DHM is only realised for the pilot views, right?

But also the plane in the outside view lies calm in the air, no wing flex etc.

Should the perception not be consistent, at least for pilot view and the outside view, because the turbulence is as it is?

Thanx in advance.

Hi Andreas

You need to create a camera view for your passenger. You can do this simply by selecting your captain view and then select 'add a new camera' view (which will clone the captain view) and then just move the viewpoint across to the passenger seat), 'assign your aircraft type', then 'save cameras'.

For turbulence on the aircraft itself select both the Bump Aircraft and Turbulence Effects options (Turbulent Motion and/or Turbulent Bump) within DHM and enable FSX turbulence (which is set via the FSX menu option - Options, Settings, Display. Select the Weather tab, there is an option for turbulence and thermal effects on the aircraft, make sure it is not disabled).

To see wing flex enable the 'Advanced Animations' option in the FSX menu option - Options, Settings, Display - Graphics tab.

Regards

Cheryl

Hi Cheryl,

have to check it again. It seems that Bump Aircraft was switched off. FSX stuff was set correctly. Thanx.
