Clouds & BIOS

Featured Replies

Hi all!My sim is very much affected by clouds... I mean it really can take 20fps to 6fps when those fluffy and BIG cumulus appear in front of me! so, does anyone knows about a spare cloud texture file, that can lower the effect over frame rates and yet maintain a good quality??? Also, wich of those weather sliders do you think affect fps the most???Another thing: I

Hi Lucas.you're issue with the clouds can be solved by going here > http://fsw.simflight.com/ you want the bigger of the two zip files, and beleive you me,they make one hell of a difference, and they look just fine too,you can even turn up you're clouds settings, mines at MAX, and wheather up-dates to High, also set you're default vis to 60NM, beyound that is pretty much useless anyway, if you have FSUIPC then all the better ay you should set it in there.as for the Bios, sorry, I'm not that techie minded, but I don't mess with it without talking to the manufacturer's tech support first,ASUS are great people, give them a ring, there here to help after all.good luck Lucas,Steve.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/88014.jpg

LucusAsus has recently changed the installer for their BIOS upgrades. Did you read the latest info for upgrading your BIOS? Hope this solves your problem.David

Lucas, first of all, don't upgrade your bios with EZFlash. It corrupts mobo's bios' sometimes... Be glad it didn't function! I beleive the '04' bios has this 'feature' per default. So Asus knows about the probs... Update your bios the old-fashion way through DOS. For more info check www.viaarena.com if you like. As for the clouds, more display adapter, resolution, driver (i.e. via 4in1?) and settings infos would be useful. Good luck and kind regards Jaap
