Adding Autopilot to Miles Magister?

Featured Replies

I have an autopilot installed in a Miles Magister. I have added all the required autopilot section to the aircraft.cfg and made the appropriate entries in the air file. The ALT hold works fine. When I switch on HDG hold the A/C wobbles about +/- 25° from the selected heading. It does not work at all in NAV mode even though I have the NAV set to a VOR and the VOR gauge works to select my NAV heading. What do I have to do to get it working? Thanks, Bob.

As an update I have installed a rudder trim position gauge and found out that I have right rudder trim but no left rudder trim in this plane. I assume that the A/P applies inputs to the rudder trim to achieve heading control. I have used the K/B keys for rudder trim and can get right rudder trim but no left rudder trim. This is very strange as I have over 50 planes with the same autopilot in them and they all work fine. Any help sure would be appreciated. Regards, Bob.
