August 16, 200421 yr I encountered a strange effect with AFCAD: I edited GCRR for use with Sim-Wing's Canary Islands for FS2004 to place the tower view where it belongs.Of course, I have an own folder for such AFCADs, and an entry in scenery.cfg which makes sure they 'overwrite' others with lower priority. And, I always make sure not to have any duplicates. But even after re-loading FS, the tower view was not updated. When I booted the PC yesterday and replayed what I did, just to make sure again I made no mistake, it suddenly worked. Needless to say that I didn't do anything to improve the situation. Now I have my doubts from where this effect comes. I have 1GB of RAM, maybe it's a fault in the file system caching mechanism of my WinXP?Anyone else encoutered similar problems?Andreas Andreas, LOWW - Nihil sumus et fuimus mortales. August 16, 200421 yr Author Commercial Member Hi Andreas, the issue is that the tower view gets saved in each flight situation file (.flt). If you change the tower view in Afcad but load a previous flight you're tower will end up at the same location. Sounds like your first try was with an old flight and the second by jumping to the airfield?Solution 1: start a flight at a differnt airport, then go to to your airfield with the new AFCAD and save that as your new (default) flight.Solution 2: open the existing flight's flt file in Wordpad, scroll to the TOWER section and replace the coordinates with those shown in the tower coordinate display of AFCAD.Cheers, Holger
