January 30, 201313 yr Hi folks, I have a strange question. I bought the Virtavia He 111, but while the plane looks, sounds and flies well, I have some issues with the ground handling (plane tends to roll at idle power and to go "over the nose" even when applying brakes minimally). Furthermore, there was no manual delivered with the installer. Now I searched for a kind of Virtavia support forum but found none. Does anybody know how to get support? Many thanks, Harald Harald Geyer Gründer der Messerschmitt Freunde Dresden v. V.
January 31, 201313 yr Author Thanks Jim. It's so common to have support forums nowadays that I totally forgot good old e-mail. By the way, changing some parameters in the aircraft.cfg made thing already better. Harald Geyer Gründer der Messerschmitt Freunde Dresden v. V.
July 6, 201312 yr Harald, I recently purchased the Virtavia HE-111 and am experiencing the same problems. I e-mailed Virtavia's tech support (address in JSkorna's post above, but no reply after two weeks). Can you tell me what changes you made the aircraft.cfg that fixed the problem for you? Thank you and best regards,
July 7, 201312 yr Author Hi dwain7, as far as I remember I changed the contact point as following (changes are in the damping ratio) point.0 = 1, -36.60, 0.00, -0.76, 1600.00, 0, 0.90, 45.0, 0.10, 3.94, 0.44, 3.00, 3.00, 0, 135, 165 //Tail wheel point.1 = 1, 0.43, -8.74, -8.28, 1600.00, 1, 1.92, 0.00, 0.25, 1.84, 0.55, 9.50, 7.00, 2, 135, 165 //Left MLG point.2 = 1, 0.42, 8.64, -8.28, 1600.00, 2, 1.92, 0.00, 0.25, 1.84, 0.55, 8.00, 6.50, 3, 135, 165 //Right MLG and in the [brakes] section I changed the values for "toe_brakes_scale" and "differential_braking_scale" both from 1.0 to 0.5. It's not perfect - you have to be very carefully with the brakes though - , but I gave up further testing. I found out that the He-111 has almost no system depth, and this seems to be not state or the art nowadays. I did some flights some months ago but I don't use the He anymore. I hope you enjoy her more than I do! Regards, Harald Harald Geyer Gründer der Messerschmitt Freunde Dresden v. V.
