February 6, 201313 yr Flew a short flight from Madeira to the above in the NGX. No probs I thought, a clean downwind approach. But then... Intercept ILS at 10500ft, 85 miles from the airport? Wow. Never seen it done like that before. This is the last straw. RC4 cannot do straight in approaches (as is well documented) it cannot do nearside, and now it can't handle a simple downwind from Madeira. Add to that the AI sitting dormant on the runway while I'm cleared for takeoff two thirds of the time. I realize development is cancelled due to personal reasons, and that's fine, but all the same this is a bloody joke. Uninstalled. Don't bother with your usual excuses, and don't ask for a log. I am tired and fed up. This thing either works or it doesn't. It doesn't. Richard Wells
February 7, 201313 yr Moderator I'll post the solution to your problem because I've experienced it myself. I'll ignore the tone of your message. If it doesn't help you it may help others. The airport at Tenerife South has an enormous dormant volcano close to it - Mt Teide. Therefore you should have chosen NOTAMS for the arrival airport. Then, when you contact Approach you will be given pilot discretion on clearances. RC4 knows there is high ground near the airport but not its direction. So you uninstalled a proven product simply because you didn't read the manual. Ray (Cheshire, England).
