August 23, 200421 yr Someone uses the glasses from eDimensional? Are they worth the money and what's the difference to normal monitors? Any restrictions in resolution or so?Andreas Andreas, LOWW - Nihil sumus et fuimus mortales. Respice, lector: In nihil ab nihilo quam cito recidimus.
August 23, 200421 yr And be sure you have a regular CRT instead of an LCD.AMD64 3200 - ASUS K8V SE - ASUS RADEON 9800XT - SB AUDIGY 2 - 1.5GB CORSAIR XMS - RUNNING XP RPO ON A 320GB BUNCH OF SATA DRIVES
August 23, 200421 yr If you have a CRT monitor capable of a high refresh rate (120 Mhz or so) and a good video card with sufficient memory (128 Mb at the least), the 3D glasses are absolutely worth the money. They litterally add a new dimension to flight simming, and nothing comes close to giving you the feeling of 'being there'. Of course, the effect is only achieved when flying from the virtual cockpit. In 3D you get a whole new sense of height, distance and size. With many of today's high quality VC's, the effect is very convincing and immersive. The technology isn't perfect yet. You always get some kind of ghost image with certain parts of the image. For me, the main flaw is that I can never get the instrument panel and the runway in focus at the same time. It's like being crosseyed and seeing two runways and two sets of approach lights in the distance. It gets better while nearing the runway, so I can live with it. One advice though: don't buy the wireless version. You'll end up spending a fortune on batteries...Paul
August 24, 200421 yr Don't buy them if you run a Radeon graphics card. Even with the drivers they have provided I still can't get my 9800Pro to work at all with the glasses - stay well clear.
