February 10, 201313 yr I know these threads come up alot and so I was hoping someone could ciristise my system and give me some pointers to getting things a little more speedy. February 10, 201313 yr Yes it's different, NickN's guide is outdated. Word Not Allowed's guide is the best for high end systems.
February 12, 201313 yr Author After following Word Not Allowed's guide (Thanks Talek) I have managed to squeeze a few extra FPS out of my system (could be better no doubt). The most noticable tweak made the CFG was the Poolsize=o, I gained an extra 3fps by doing this, and although I do get the artifacts if i move the view around too quickly, I feel its very very managable. All in all, My FPS at in the FTX:England, sat on the runway at Uk2000s EGLL, in the PMDG737ng, with REXe+OD @4096textures overhead and UT2 glorious row after row of traffic... I get a very smooth 15fps, by very smooth I mean very playable. Heres a pic! Jack Cannon
February 12, 201313 yr If you can't get rid of artifacts even with high 2x water and pre rendered frames=1, try to switch Directx10 by following this guide: https://dl.dropbox.c.../DX10 Notes.pdf The only problem is that some addon airports will not totally work. You'll get some more FPS and get rid of artifacts. But Directx10 is not the best solution, for example 15 fps in Directx9 is more smooth than 15 fps in DX10, and antialiasing is better in DX9. I use Directx10 because DX9 does not work, i have artifacts everywhere with it.
