February 10, 201313 yr I am very interested in Opus for real time weather but I am not clear on one thing. I use REX on a client computer and P3D on a host computer with REX on the client sending real weather to the host. I also use STB/Plan-G/Flying School/Radar Contact etc. on the client working with P3D on the host. The Opus network setup manual seems to indicate that I must install a full copy of P3D/Scenery etc. on the client machine for it to work with P3D on the host machine running P3D/Scenery. If that is the case it would be a deal buster for me. Please enlighten me on this.
February 11, 201313 yr Commercial Member You have to install P3D or FSX on the client if you want scenic or instrument displays on the client(s). In this case you will also have to install the scenery on the client unless you share it over the network. If you don't want displays on the clients then there is no noticeable overhead in FPS by running the OpusFSX LWE on the server 'flying' PC. We are introducing an option in the future to run the LWE on a networked client but this is not on performance grounds, it is intended to interface to third party packages such as flight planners. Anyway try the demo and see how your system performs. Regards Cheryl
