Can any tell me why the reason why my flightsim situations are not saving. everytime i fly and save it it reverts back to the 1st flight for example.I flew the meljet 777-300er from KOAK to PHNL it is save koak-phnl then after landing at Honolulu i then save the flight as PHNL-KOAK which now should be my startup situation but no, it reverts back to the 1st flight KOAK-PHNLAny suggestion would be greatly appreciated.ALPHA37

Saving a flight does not make it the default flight. Check to be sure you are trying to save it as the default flight as well as another "saved" flight.:)

I had no problem before, right now am flying from TIST-PHNL the original saved situation is TIST-PHNL.Now when I touch down and close my flight plan in Honolulu then I would save it as PHNL-TIST.When I restart flightsim it should startup as PHNL-TIST but it would startup as TIST-PHNL. That is what I find abnormal.Ronnie AKA ALPHA37TACOMA WA

Each time that you save a flight, you MUST click the box labeled "Make this the default flight" if you want it to be the starting point for your next session. The checkbox is just below the "Description" area on the Save Flight screen. R-

I sure did check the box to make it the default flight for the next session. I have been simming since for 8yrs not being impolite. What I find strange is the FS9 CFG does not change ot write the startup situation.I have to manually go to the config file and type the situation I want as the default.Strange:( RONNIE AKA ALPHA37TACOMA WA

From the sound of it, what you should really do is to find the flight called previous flight and select that as default flight. That way every time you start the sim you will be where you ended it the last time as fs automatically saves the situation on shutdown.-

I know exactly what you're talking about Ronnie. If you do a search you'll find that a few of us posted about this problem a week or two ago. No one really offered a good solution. The previous flight thing may work. The only way I see around this is to save the flight, then when you exit FS, go into the FS9.cfg file and manually write in the path to your saved flight. The path should be the same since all these flights are saved in the same place, so what you will need to do is simply change the filename. The path is in "SITUATION=" which can be found under the "USERINTERFACE" section in the FS9.cfg. As to the question of why FS has suddenly stopped writing the new paths to the FS9.cfg file, I have no idea. Like you, this just suddenly started happening to me for no apparent reason, and I've yet to figure out why. Luckily for me, I only try to save a flight when I defragment and delete the FS9.cfg file. At this point, I must manually enter the path in the .cfg file. I could understand your fustration though, since you save everytime you fly.Good luck with finding a solution.

Thanks all you guys I thought on my 37th b'day I had reach the phase of insanity.I uninstalled and reinstalled the sim over and over again. Cool so am not crazy. Thanks again guys and yes writing the the situation directly to Fs9 CFG was the only solution for me.RONNIE AKA ALPHA37TACOMA WA
