FS2004 main folder question

I was looking in the main folder of FS2004 and saw that there is a fs2000.cfg file, a fs2000.exe file, and a fs2002.exe file in there. What purpouse do those file serve being in the FS2004 main folder?

Backward compatibility for installers for addons for previous versions that need to `see` those files to install to the sim.Hope this helpsAllcott
