Just an idea...wouldn't that save fps

Featured Replies

Hi guys, just an idea that crossed my mind:I am running a lot of stuff on a 2nd computer with FSUIPC and WideFS. So wouldn't it be a good idea to create a whole plane that is running through a program like WideFS on a 2nd computer? And let the FS computer do the visuals only. Now wouldn't that be a great fps saver and at the same time allow for functionality that FS9 is lacking in the flight and instruments section.Just a thought, what do you think?Alex

Hi,My hopes are on dual processor support in FS10, that would really make a difference. One processor supporting the graphic engine, and the other the simulator engine. If only.... ;)

I believe that is already been done. When you build an actual cockpit those guys are running all instruments off seperate PC's while the main is dedicated just to scenery. Nice but $$$!

yes, this is done quite often. Many users of PS 1.3 utilize FS9 as a scenery generator. I would do it if I had two computers.

CPU: Core i5-6600K 4 core (3.5GHz) - overclock to 4.3 | RAM: (1066 MHz) 16GB

Ponyboyz, that is what I do alreaday with WideFs and Project Magenta in my cockpit. But the flight dynamics of the plane are still calculated on the main FS machine. Now what I am thinking about is to completely calculate the flight dynamics on the remote machine, and at the same time have the plane on the main machine in some kind of slew mode. But then again I have no idea how large the burden of flight dynamics caculation really is.Alex

Steve, could you please help me out here. What the heck is PS 1.3? Where can I get it. Is it expensive? I have a fairly fast 2nd computer here.Alex

aloha alex,go to www.aerowinx.com to find out more about PS1.3

Ok. I know this sim. But nowhere does it say that you can use FS for the visuals. It would be interesting for me to know how it is done. Is there a plug-in for the program that connects to FSUIPC?Anyway I am not into the big iron anymore. I got fairly comfortable with DF's 737 once, but now I really prefer flying GA aircraft. On most of the flights I refuse to turn the AP on. What I would love to have would be a nice piston twin prop, that works after these principles.Alex

Check wideview forumSome folks running the sim on two or more separate networked computers one running scenery only and acts as wideview client--second running panels and is a wideview serverDidnt tryed by myself but perhaps i will
