(Note: There is a caveat to this, let's say you want to practice a landing, you have to save the flight 20 seconds before the point you want to begin practice ... you have to take into account the initialization time when loading your saved flight)

 

You don't need to do that, there's a trick for it. pause the flight before saving. when you load it it should be paused. put fsx in slew mode ("y" button), un-pause and wait for the 20 seconds of initialization time. then hit "Y" again to get out of the slew mode.
