March 4, 201313 yr Author Uh, oh! Two captains flying together. That's usually bad news. Why ? Do you know them ?
March 4, 201313 yr Any other differences ? Artur If you go to youTube and watch a few vids you should see. To me, the cockpit colours are all washed ( faded ), i dont like the sounds of switches, dont sounds right. The overhead panel lights (to me, mind, lets not forget this is my opinion) have no depth to them, the engine sounds....ect ect ect, i could go on. Regards Luke M
March 4, 201313 yr Metalmike, i see u are IFLY supporter, how is comparison between IFLY and PMDG 737 ? BR/Artur I use FS9, so I've never flown the NGX, though I'm sure it's better. iFly is the best 737 for FS9.
March 4, 201313 yr Why ? Do you know them ? I've never flown with either, but one's a "Legend," I believe, and the other is a Chief Pilot. I think that video is from the delivery of our first -900ER, so they brought out the big guns. I jokingly say "Uh, oh" because there's a few accidents that had two CAs flying together. Matt Cee
March 5, 201313 yr Nice video content, but I think I need an airsick bag because of the excessive camera movement. Marty Becker PPL - Instrument Rating
March 5, 201313 yr Any other differences ? Artur The PMDG 737NGX is, IMHO, more polished product, the documentation is better (read more aesthetic and accurate) , the support at PMDG is amazingly non-confrontational and considerate, my performance was enhanced as well, (I have an E8400 Duo Core Wolfdale at 3.0 GHz with 8GB memory a marginal machine to say the least) and I'm consistantly getting 17 to 19 fps. I was in the 7 - 9 range with the other guys. Also, and this was a biggie for me, in PMDG the ability to load a saved flight from MSFX Load option and have the flight, panel state and route load up at once is vastly simpler process. There is no need to load the default Cessna first, PMDG's initialization process (20 secs) takes care of that problem (Note: There is a caveat to this, let's say you want to practice a landing, you have to save the flight 20 seconds before the point you want to begin practice ... you have to take into account the initialization time when loading your saved flight) And this was another biggie, in PMDG, when I resize a window, I'll get the "mouse busy" cursor (a flashy circle) for a second and then it goes away, no matter how many times I resize, with the other plane just about everytime, after a couple of resizings, the busy cursor would never go away and I had to restart the flight. I finally got around this by hacking the panel configuration file and setting the panels to the size that I needed so I never had to do any resizing. The good thing about iFly has already been stated, if you are using FS9, iFly are your guys. If you are flying MSFX then PMDG is my recommendation. Also, iFly gives a "better" package as far as quantity goes. With iFly you get the whole airframe suite 600,700,800,900 and BBJ's. PMDG costs ~$70+ just for the 800 and 900. The others are an additional ~40+ (I'm working from memory here so look up the dollar amounts yourself). So that said, iFly is cheaper and PMDG is more expensive ... basically, you get what you pay for.
March 5, 201313 yr Thanks Charles, I am not using FS9 anymore so IFLY is not an option for me, also i stick completely to PMDG - i think forever BR/Artur Artur
