How to install XGauge in FSX

Featured Replies

I purchased ASE and when I try to install the xgauge I receive an error. I ran the installer "run as administrator" and I'm sure I have given all rights to my flightsimx directories properly (Maybe not, as I'm new with Windows 8). So, I'd like to install the program manually, however I don't know what files go where. Can someone explain, in detail, how to do this. Or, if someone could explain how to get my Windows 8 system to allow me to install regularly, I'd appreciate that also. The below message is the error I receive:

"Problem checking for access rights to FSX aircraft folders. You may need to adjust your windows security rights and if running vista, make sure you run the program as administrator (right click the X Gauge Wizard icon). This can also occur when FSX is open. Make sure it is CLOSED before trying again."

Thanks

Never mind everyone. I got the install program to work.....I think it was because I had some "inherent" security settings for the my Flight Sim directories. I disabled the inherent settings and it worked just fine. I had never seen these so called inherent settings in Windows VISTA nor Win 7. And, I don't know if it's a windows 8 thing or not, since I've had this Windows 8 computer system for a little over a month now, still learning some of the ins and outs.
