September 7, 200421 yr I've made an exclude file to remove the visual VOR object from the runway. Just unzip it and place the .bgl file in your Flight Simulator 9Addon Sceneryscenery folder (or whatever folder you prefer as long as it's accessed by the scenery library), and it should work fine. :-)Hope this helps,Kevinhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/90484.zip
September 7, 200421 yr Thanks for the fix Kev.I noticed some building right on the flight path to RW 10 at TFFJ. Anyone have a fix for that?XP Home SP2Asus P4P800-SE Intel 3.0GHZDDR 400 D/C 2x512MBGeForce FX 5700 256MB (56.72)SB AudigyMSFF2 & X45 throttleSee you in the fence...CYYZ Al Stiff
September 7, 200421 yr >Thanks for the fix Kev.Glad I could help.>I noticed some building right on the flight path to RW 10 at>TFFJ.Hmmmmmm.I went to that airport and find buildings to be pretty low on the list of flight safety concerns with my setup...Heading into Rwy 28. One is encouraged to note the hill(s).http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/90497.jpgRwy 28, but closer this time. Hill still a factor in my book.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/90498.jpgHeading into Rwy 10. No, I'm not kidding. I found myself pulling up.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/90499.jpgWell, I can at least see Rwy 10 now.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/90500.jpgUm, is this the stock terrain? :-eek If not, has anyone heard of or seen this irregularity and how to fix it?> Anyone have a fix for that?altstiff, if you can clearly identify which objects you'd like excluded (screenshots would help accuracy :-) please?), I can attach an exclude .bgl file in this thread.Kevin
September 7, 200421 yr Hehe, it is like that in real life, cept for the buildings. These are from Airliners.net.I'll get a couple sceen grabs and show you waht I mean. I do have auto gen at it's highest so that may be why you do not see the buildings.XP Home SP2Asus P4P800-SE Intel 3.0GHZDDR 400 D/C 2x512MBGeForce FX 5700 256MB (56.72)SB AudigyMSFF2 & X45 throttleSee you in the fence...CYYZ Al Stiff
September 7, 200421 yr Ok buildings are gone! Will auto gen place buildings at random? I know for a fact I have had buildings right on the flight path in the past (sometimes there sometimes not). Very strange.XP Home SP2Asus P4P800-SE Intel 3.0GHZDDR 400 D/C 2x512MBGeForce FX 5700 256MB (56.72)SB AudigyMSFF2 & X45 throttleSee you in the fence...CYYZ Al Stiff
September 7, 200421 yr altstiff,All of the autogen problems I've experienced (that come to memory, that is) were the same every time, but that's not at all to say that you've not had buildings there in the past. Strange indeed. If it repeats, just PM me, and I'll get some coordinates from you and build an exclude, time in the real world allowing. If you'd like, you can download from Flightsim.com (couldn't find it on Avsim, unfortunately) the little program uploaded by Ian Donohoe with which I build them (bgltkit0.zip - 235 KB and very simple).Just spent a little time there doing circuit work (TFFJ, that is). What a nice little field. If that's the way it is in real life (which it is, thanks for the airliners.net idea), then bring it on! Kind of like the bigger strips I'm used to in Alaska and B.C. ;-)Have fun up there,Kevin
September 8, 200421 yr Thanks for looking into it with me Kevin.I did buy the Winair DVD that has them doing in cockpit runs to St.Barts (TFFJ) and SABA (a VERY short runway) in a Dash 6. Very neat video indeed. They really dive bomb on RW 10 when they land. September 8, 200421 yr Glad to go along for the ride, my friend. Thanks in return for introducing me to a great little airport in the Caribbean. The first shot I took at TFFJ was in a Super Decathlon (which has no flaps), and I ended up adopting a figure-eight style traffic pattern to practice approaches to both ends. After my fourth landing in the Super Deke, I was able to talk a friendly fellow-pilot into riding along with me while I shot approaches in his souped-up Piper Archer II. He called it "Bandit" or something... :-) Much easier to land there in something with flaps.Have a good one,Kevin
