Good day My FSX is still up and running

 

i know i did something wrong so know every time i start FSX i get this Message

 

Scenery\0107\Scenery                Area 018 Missing

 

is there a way to Fix this ?   i have been reading other post's and i found many people who have posted there Scenery.cfg file   can i just copy the that file or copy the Area 018 ??

 

But when i Look inside the Scenery.CFG i find Aera 018

If the scenery in question is of the "addon" variety, try reinstalling.  If it is part of the FSX program installation, run the "repair" facility from your original discs.

I dont understand what you are saying ?

Using Windows Explorer, go to where you have installed FSX. Check for the folder \FSX\Scenery\0107\scenery. There should be 33 files inside that folder, 32 that start with cvx and 1 that starts with dem.

 

FSX is telling you it can't find that folder and it's files. If it's not there, then you would want to consider using the Repair option to the installation.

Thanks the file is not there , i do have a Full back up of fsx i was trying to avoid the restore thing , thinking there is an other way around but no

 

So  i did a recovery  ,,,  thank god for  Acronis true image

Glad you made a backup. Wish everybody did so.

 

The 0107 area is down at the bottom of the earth, as in Antartica. So that may give some guidance as to what add on may have caused the problem?
