How will This Computer run in FSX?

Featured Replies

How will this computer run in FSX? I wont be planning to use any aftermarket airports, though i will use the PMDG 737 and 777 :P, REX and GEX (or FTX Global).

Intel i5 3470 stock at 3.2GHZ

ASRock H77M LGA 1155 Intel H77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Micro ATX

Sapphire Radeon 7770 Overclocked Edition

8GB G.Skill Ares 1600MHZ Ram

Thanks

Jonathon James

It looks like you're on a tight budget, unfortunately if you want to run FSX comaparatively well especially with PMDG models budget machines like this will struggle. I'm not saying that you won't be able to run FSX but depending on your expectations you may well end up dissapointed with the results and wishing you'd saved a little more for a better machine.

You will need a CPU that you can overclock (K series) and a motherboard capable of overclocking (not H77 chipset) as FSX needs CPU speed more than anything. Also it is generally accepted that NVidia graphics cards work best with FSX and you're probably looking at least doubling your graphics card budget.

Um I got the graphics card last week, so I don't think its a option to get rid of it already, as it is absolutely magnificent in other games. I guess my other other option is the 3570K as im trying to minimize power usage (77W vs 95W)

I can't really add anything to what I've already said but to re-iterate if you get a 3570K and intend to overclock it you will also need a different motherboard.
