Continuous DLL errors in FS2004....HELP!!

Hi!!Recently I bought a new PC, and for some time performance was incredible...I was a very happy flightsimmer...The system specs...CPU: AMD athlon 64 FX 3200MOBO: ASUS SK8VGPU: Creative GEForce FX5900Ultra, 256 MB RAMlast drivers...MEMORY: 2048 MB DDR OS: WinXP SP2AUDIO: Creative SB Audigy 2 (this one overlaps the integrated one, but I still use the int. gameport, to have 2 joyports, one connected to the FF1 MS joystick (from theSB2...) the other to an analog home built controller...(Motheroboard...))(I think other peripherals are not to blame here: scanners, joysticks, speakers...)The issue i've started to have, and continuously getting worst, is that FS gives me errors in some DLL of his own: NOT ALWAYS THE SAME ONE!! G2D.DLL , G3D.DLL , WEATHER,DLL , FE.DLL, FACILITIES.DLL...and DYNAMICS.DLL too... but i guess other ones are to cme...It's the classic "FS had a problem: we are sorry for the inconvenience...(o) restart FS2004..." if you look in the technical information, the error module is always one of FS DLLs... I heard that heat-up can make this happen, bau i have a COOLER MASTER case fitted with 2 large fans, 2 small ones and the power supply has 2 fans too...this thing is prettily made for overclockers...AND I HAVE NOT OVERCOLCKED ANITHING HERE!!! so heat is not the matter....I thought was the old issue that sometimes road textured created a CRASH-TO DESKTOP, conflicting with grouund textures, but not such DLL errors. If you have the CTDs problem, open up terrain.cfg and change MaskClassMap=1 and MaskClassMap=3 toMaskClassMap=0, and should be fine...I done so, and no more CTDs, but after some time, the DLL errors came , and now i feel lucky if i manage to fly from A to Bwithout FS getting this kind of errors... do you know what's going on here? This is DRIVING ME NUTS!!!Mario Noriega

I would start by unloading all the extra peripherals, i.e., two joysticks, disable the on-board audio, etc. Next I would download and install updated MOBO controller chip drivers, i.e., Intel, VIA, SiS, AMD, ALi, NForce.Run the directx diagnostic, Press Start, Run..., type dxdiag, OK. Let the diagnostic stabilize, ensure you are using DirectX9.0b or 9.0c. Select the Display tab, ensure DirectDraw, Direct3D, and AGP Accelerations are enabled. If grayed-out, reinstall the MOBO controller chip drivers. Run the DirectDraw and Direct3D tests and note any errors. Select the Audio and Music tabs and run the tests and note any errors. If you are trying to run two gameports, i.e., on-board and sound card, you may have problems in IRQ conflicts. If you are running over 512MB of RAM, try removing the overage and see if the computer is stable.Lastly, it could be you install third party software into the flight simulator that is causing the problem. You could try making a copy of your present flight simulator folder, rename the copy FS2004OLD. Uninstall FS2004, use Windows Explorer to delete any residual FS2004 folder (NOT FS2004OLD), reinstall FS2004, start FS2004, let it stabilize and see if the problem is corrected. Rename the new flight simulator 9 folder to FS2004NEW, then rename FS2004OLD to Flight Simulator 9, restart the flight simulator and see if the problem reappears. If so, you need to desides how to troubleshoot the problem. You can always rename the old installation FS2004OLD, then rename FS2004NEW to Flight Simulator 9 and reload your third party addons.W. I'd agree with everything said above .. and add a couple of things .1:When uninstalling the original FS9 make sure you delete the old FS9.cfg file and the folder containing it in Documents and Settings and also delete any registry entries for Microsoft Games/Flight Simulator.2: Altho your machine has all the fans - it may still be worth checking the temps(and voltages ) to see that all is well-fans can fail - even new ones, PSUs can go "off the boil" altho I'm more inclined to think it's either add-on software related or some kind of hardware conflict .Good luckDave
