Excel Import of current_wx_snapshot

Featured Replies

Hi everyone.

Tonight I created a spreadsheet to put my basic pre-flight information into a printable sheet of paper.

I have flight #, airport, departure time etc. etc.

I put the surface wind for depart/arrive/alt as well.

Then I got the bright idea that maybe when I type my airport - it can pull the information in via vlookup if I import the current_wx_snapshot file via macro.

I almost have it working, but there are so many delimiters on the import, it's hard to keep the file straight.

KRDU for example imports as KRDU::KRDU.  I can put "KRDU::KRDU" as my airport and the vlookup works, but I don't like the way it looks.

I can split it on import using a :: as a delimiter, but then the other columns get messed up on the import.

I'll keep working on it, but if there's someone out there that wants to mess with excel and see if they can beat me to it, the challenge is on.  :)

Of course I'll share the spreadsheet when done if anyone's interested.
