It seems that, since 2007 or so, that FG is a hobby; a typical Linux application with a leader or three, a handful of developers, a legion of whiners and devoted silent users and a few independents who do more than their share.
Yes a lot of possibilities, but no seamless usability in general. MS had years to get a FS for Window$; it worked, all of them. However, it seems that Linux just can't seem to stand still long enough for the overworked developers to draw a line and meet it.
Oh, am I whining, too? Sorry, but wouldn't it be nice to have something that actually works, out of the box. Then the userbase can add to and enhance, and the developers can concentrate on fixing bugs?
AVSIM is a free service to the flight simulation community. AVSIM is staffed completely by volunteers and all funds donated to AVSIM go directly back to supporting the community. Your donation here helps to pay our bandwidth costs, emergency funding, and other general costs that crop up from time to time. Thank you for your support!

For example, see:

A fundamental part of FG that is broken, with 57 views, and not one assist, comment or solution. There are 9 other issues noted, too.
It is just so frustrating at times; thanks for the space to vent...
