March 28, 201313 yr Hi all, I was thinking that I wanted to pass on what I needed to do to install the EVGA Signature Plus (02G-P4-2685-KR) into a Dell 730x system with stock motherboard. Because the system has a large capacity to install the longest of video cards, my GTX 285 had a Dell attached metal fin/holder that placed itself into a front inside slot (for this purpose) to hold up the back end of the card and give it support. I found the GTX 680 to not have the same pre-drilled screw pattern that was required for the fin back plate, so I came up with the idea to use a measured length of soft brass brazing rod, which has at both ends layered square bits of duct tape. Using the bits of duct tape at each end to pad the metal ends of the rod, I built up both ends, so the rod length would fit gently between the bottom of the case and the underside of the back plate of the GTX680 for a slight tug fit. This worked out perfectly to support the back end of the card and relieve any stress from weight of said card on the PCI Express motherboard socket. Being only 1/8 inch in circumference, the rod poses no impediment to cooling air coming from the front towards the card and the rest of the inner works. Thought to pass this solution along.... Cheers!
