Anyone Figure Out How To Keep A/C From Disappearing Yet?

Featured Replies

This is in ref to an earlier post I had several months ago concerning the aircraft that disappear after "x" amount of time of sitting on the taxiway.Just wondering if with the SDK's out there somebody found that "magic digit" or two that would lengthen that length of time?Jeff

No! It is a system timer that is set for each AI aircraft. If an aircraft doesn't move, i.e., taxi, takeoff, park, etc. after a period (5 minutes I believe), it will disappear. I believe the time was 15 minutes in FS2002.This does several things, 1) the software may have lost control of this AI and it will never move so the timer causes it to disappear, 2) the timer is also used when a gigantic backlog of aircraft are sitting on the taxiways for takeoff. Over a period of time, the system can become overloaded. The timer removes these aircraft to accommodate other AI aircraft arriving and departing from that airport.W. Sieffert
