April 5, 201313 yr Hello opus team, First thank you for the opusfsx, it really took fsx to a new level. When I purchased the software everything was going as it should, but after my first flight with ivao ( after the purchase), the primary server didn't load the live weather, the spy is giving the 0 metars available message (unless I tick the avsim server option for missing info). I tried everything on your flight one forum, checked everything, and still no change. Avsim server is not giving the required quality so I really appreciate your assistance. With best regards, Steve
April 5, 201313 yr Commercial Member Try setting all weather defaults, then set the Adjust settings Automatically and Adjust Sim Friendly options. Click on Update Weather and immediately open the Spy window, with FSX up and running you should see the NOAA METARs downloaded. You could have inadvertently turned on the Import METARs from file option or something. Once you get it downloading remember to specify your Destination and Cruise Altitude then force another weather update. Stephen
April 5, 201313 yr Author Hi Stephen, Thank you for your quick reply, Unfortunately it didnt work. is there any other way to correct it. Thanks in advance, Steve
April 5, 201313 yr Commercial Member Try setting your Cruise Altitude to above 6000 feet and update the weather. It will try and download the GRIB data file. Does your system have a healthy Internet connection. Have you checked your Import option is not ticked? What is the Spy window telling you? Stephen There doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the NOAA site, I have just downloaded a METAR. Make sure you have clicked on Defaults in each of the weather dialogs. That should select the Primary Server. You should not have the history or import options enabled, then with your aircraft sitting on the ground at an airport just open the Weather dialog and click on the Update Weather option. After closing the weather dialog, immediately open the Spy window and you should see the METARs downloading. The weather engine should also create an OpusWeather.txt file in the c:\OpusFSX\Themes folder after it has updated the weather. If you do not have any METARs downloaded then check your Internet access on your FSX system. Stephen
April 5, 201313 yr Author Hi stephen, the selected cruise altitude is already 22000, the internet connection is working as it should (high speed internet). and the import option is not ticked. Could it be a firewall problem? Steve
April 5, 201313 yr Commercial Member Yes it can, something is stopping the FSXSERVER program accessing the Internet. With the Primary Server selected It accesses the NOAA site for both its METARs and the GRIB forecast file, which should be clearly evident in the Spy window. But if its blocked from accessing the Internet then the program will just fail to load anything. Stephen
April 5, 201313 yr Author weirdly NOAA website is not opening here: This web page is not availableThe web page at http://www.noaa.gov/ might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address. Error 137 (net::ERR_NAME_RESOLUTION_FAILED): Unknown error. Steve
April 5, 201313 yr Commercial Member I have just downloaded the GRIB and METARs from the site, http://www.aviationweather.gov/adds/metars/ with no problem here. Stephen
April 5, 201313 yr Author Not opening as well, tried to access NOAA from my mobile (not connected to the router) and it worked. The problem is definetly in the router. Steve
April 5, 201313 yr Commercial Member Try the www.aviationweather.gov/adds/metars/ site though, this is the Primary Server site the LWE gets its METARs from. You might have to reset your router or something. Stephen
April 5, 201313 yr Author Hi Stephen, I thank you so much for your assistance, as I mentioned the problem is in the router settings, NOAA and aviationweather did not open using the current router, however they did work on my mobile. So I will call the local service provider to adjust the router settings. Consider it solved, and thank you again for your prompt assistance. With my best regards, Steve
