Can someone do some Concorde sounds???

Featured Replies

I just bought the SSTSim Concorde and I must say it's a great peace of software. The only problem I find is what I find when anyone does sound for the Concorde, they make the internal sounds sound as if your sitting right on top of the engines. It should only be loud in the cabin when the afterburners are heated up. I've flown in the 727 which is a loud aircraft in it's own right and found the farther forward you are in the cabin the less you can hear the engines (same goes for the DC9). What should be heard here is a moderate hum as well as significant wind noise. Wind is usually heard over engines when the powerplants are located in the rear of the aircraft and your sitting in the forward most section of the jet. I'm trying to put together some quieter sounds for my package because from the many articles I've read, the Concorde does not require it's passengers to where ear protection to fly. I hope someone one day get's this critical peace done right because it sure does effect the realism of a Concorde simulation. Here's a link from someone who has actually flown on the bird. Note the part about internal sounds. This is just one article of many that I've read on the subject:http://www.turbokart.com/concorde.htm

Hey Dillon. I concur. This is one of the things brought up during the testing. It is definetly on Andrew's list...it's just he started school again...ran out of time. I think eventually, we'll have a superb soundset...just a little time needed. Other than that; glad you like the package...I think it's one of the best out there. Not just Concorde either. Especially, for the immersion. Fly Safe!Best,Dave

How's that? ;-)David

LOL!! Gotta loop it and then it will be good to go!Greg

I've just finished updating the existing sound set. Soon as I get the chance I'll upload it to Flightsim and Avsim.com. I also need to upload my Gulfstream update... I've really pressed for time these days. I posted over on the SSTSim forums as well on this issue. If you guys want I can email my update to you to upload on the SSTSim site. Users can use my sound set as an alternative until you all release your updated sounds... I'm a little happier with what I've been able to accomplish versus the original sounds... Some things are still too loud... If anyone knows, what line in the 'sound.cfg' file adjust the individual volume of the various engine sounds???
