Yes, that is an extremely common situation. FS ATC still has a long way to go, but there has been a slight improvement since fs2002: Back then the other aircraft would just land, and while you got to go-around.-

Kind of makes you wonder what the "beta testers" do. Eh?DN

It would have been a great improvement if they had implemented holding patterns and if ATC would issue speed restrictions and such to make the aircraft meet separation requirements. I also wish they would stop vectoring Cessnas to 20 mile finals. -

>Kind of makes you wonder what the "beta testers" do. Eh?Not really. Makes one wonder if you have any idea how complex this is?A small hint: ATC is still done by humans instead of computers in real life.... If you can make a program doing ATC efficiently and safe, there should be a few billion euros heading your way. And don't bother about saving on hardware cost - they can buy much more powerful stuff than your "highend" pc.... There isn't any problem in using a few hundred CPU's for the busy airspaces.Of course, FS do not have to be as safe and efficient as in real life, but the budget available to implement it (as well as the CPU power available) would be a fraction of a real life implementation as well.Yes, ATC can be improved. I am not saying it can't be improved!!!!! Please don't tell me I said that it can't be improved (some people have had problem reading comment like this in the past). What I am saying is that improving it is extremely costly timewise, and making it perfect is basically flat out impossible (they might get close by cheating a bit here and there). The FS team desided to spend the effort elsewhere, I can't really blame them.

>I don't know, ATC causing a few midair collisons seems "As>Real As it Gets.">>A few every year, not a few every flight. If you ever flew into Frankfurt or Heathrow with full AI-traffic you know what I'm talking about.Very sorry to hear about your friend.-
