J41 avionics high pitched noise

Featured Replies

Recently bought the J41 and to me it's a pretty challenging little plane that keeps me off the street and out of bed, but I think I am making (a little) progress.

When I am powering up the plane (strictly according to the book) and bringng the avionics on line I am experiencing a high pitched noise the instant the avionics are activated. I was wondering if this is normal. Anyway I haven't been able to get rid of it; the mute button only works for the dings and dongs during the power up but not for this sound.

I have searched the forum for this and related topics but couldn't find any. Hope anyone can help me out.

Thanks

BuckDanny

Haven't flown the Jetstream in a while, But I believe that's just the sound of the avionics. Cool yeah? :D

I usually only start the sim with the aircraft powered up. I'm an aircraft mechanic who held a run/taxi certification on the JS4100 for over 10 years. I think the sim mimics the look, sound, and feel of that aircraft very well. There is a perceptible noise that I believe, mostly come from the avionics fans. This is probably quite noticeable without engines running. Regards.

Thanks all for the quick response. Adam, would it be possible to address the avionics fans sounds individually in the FSX sim, you think?

Thanks

Not sure but I suspect not. That noise shouldn't be perceptible after eng start in any case.
