What does cache_wav_files in fs9.cfg do?

Featured Replies

Does anyone know what the fs9.cfg setting cache_wav_files= does?I hypothesize that it holds wav files in memory that would otherwise require stutter-producing hard drive accesses.I stumbled across it while I was tweaking something else. Subjectively, I think it may improve smoothness but I'm not sure. Thanks,

If you look it is under the [APL] section:[APL]CACHE_WAV_FILES=1I believe if you are doing the lessons, it will cache the necessary files together to complete a long phrase used in the lessons.I don't think it is used for normal wave file playing.W. Sieffert
