October 2, 200421 yr Hi everyone,My fs9 was working as normal until 1 day ago and yesterday I installedthe latest airac cycles for Pmdg737, CRJ700-900, Fsnav, and also Syd/Stars for Pmdg, and also the lastest Fsuipc version(registered) something I do every month. Now when I start fs9, I get the following message:Flight Sim. was unable to load some Aircraft or Software, you can continue using flight sim. but this aircraft or software will be disabled. Then It lists 10 different files which are: controls.dll, demo.dll,facilities.dll, fe.dll, flight.dll, instructor.dll, main.dll,multiplayer.dll, symmap.dll and weather.dll.I checked and found all of these files in fs9/modules, i click ok for the error message 10 times, and then fs9 crashes: flight sim. has encountered a Problem, well you know the rest. Can anyone tell me what the location for this files should be and do they belong into the modules folder??? if not where they should be.I can't explain what could have gone wrong, never had this problem before.Sorry for the long post.My system: P4 2.8, 1 gig Ram, Ati 9800 Pro 128 MB, 40 gig HD. Windows Xp home, Sp1.Thanks, Helmut - CYYZ
October 2, 200421 yr i've just updated the navdata for my PMDG and PSS aircraft as well as installing the latest version of FSUIPC, no problems here. From your description it seems you are getting the same problem you would have got from loading an early version of FSUIPC that may have been included with older addons. you should be able to find the files on one of your FS9 CDs if they are missing or corupted. After you have replaced the files check your version of FSUIPC before restarting FS9 because if you have the wrong version the problem will reaccure.
October 2, 200421 yr Hi HelmutSorry to hear about your problem,Yes these files should be in your modules folder. If I was you I would cut and paste your fs9.cfg file out of the C:Documents and SettingsyournameApplication DataMicrosoftFS9fs9.CFG location and start FS9 again and see if that helps. The file will be rebuilt, sometimes something in there causes FS to react strangely.Nothing you have done should cause FS9 to react like that.CheersTim
October 2, 200421 yr Hi,Thanks guys for the replies, so far I have had no luck getting fs9 to start. I deleted the fsg.cfg file, but since fs9 won't start, it can'tbe rebuild. Also I checked the fs9 cd's for these files and could not find any of them. Wondering if these are fs9 files at all or from some addons? Of which I have many.Anybody know, if I re-install fs9 on top of the old one will all my addons still be usable??Thanks, HelmutP4 2.8G,1024MB Ram,ATI 9800 Pro 128 mb, Windows xp home, latest directxCat 4.9 video driver.
October 2, 200421 yr Hi HelmutSorry it didn't work.A reinstall over the top may work but a complete reinstall would be a better option if that doesn't work. One way I have done it in the past, say your FS is installed in C:/FS9, Re-name your existing FS installation directory to FS9a for instance, reinstall the base FS9 in the original location before you renamed it (C:/FS9) You wil then have a virgin installation in the correct location for registry entries, You can then start moving your addons over from your old directory to your new one, (all except FS9.cfg), but not forgetting your scenery.cfg file. Start up FS at regular intervals to make sure it starts. If that works then you after you've moved everything over, you can delete the rest of you FS9a directory,This is of course dependent on you having enough free disk space to have 2 installations of FS on your system temporarily.Good luck.CheersTim
October 3, 200421 yr Thanks Tim,I installed fs9 on top of the existing apps, that fixed the problem, however it created a few other ones.May have to do a clean install of fs9, not looking forward to that, toomany addons. This would be the first re-install since fs9 appeared soI shouldn't complain. Thanks again,HelmutP4 2.8G,1024MB Ram,ATI 9800 Pro 128 mb, Windows XP, SP1, Direct 9c, Cat4.9 Video driver.
February 13, 200521 yr goto your 'modules' folder and make sure FSUI.dll is there - if not- find it on your original discs.i deleted mine when clearing out fsuipc because it was the wrong version. whammy! no-could-start-fs9-...dll file problems. stumbled on the remedy being fsui.. fortunately, I had not emptied the Recycle Bin.All is working well. Hope this is a remedy for you guys/gals
February 13, 200521 yr I had this same problem a few months ago. I used a return point that Windows XP creates automatically when you install new software. All went fine and FS9 started up again.Herrie
