Great Simulation, Few Issues

Featured Replies

First off, I want to say, having followed this project forever...it is a fantastic systems simulation. The model is fantastic, the VC is incredible, and the flight dynamics are absolutely superb! That P-Factor is something else :). I've never used the rudder trim on my yoke until now. Congratulations Majestic on the best turboprop simulation for FSX that I have ever flown (I really have flown them all...)!

Now, I do want to point out what I think are issues:

1. The sound cutting out at ~10 minutes of sim time: The work around I've read is to not use the FSX flight planner/ATC. This is not acceptable in my case since I always use FSX ATC. The ATC engine in the sim may be flawed, but I have always used it. I've gotten to the point of modifying each airport I fly into with ADEX to the point where I can "Request Different Approach" and have defined transitions where I'm never "vectored into space" and it works very well for me. I spend a lot of time at the planning phase getting FSX set up so that my A to B is as smooth as can be within the FSX ATC world. The sound issue is a big downer for me because I LOVE the sound of turboprops and when I've done freeflight (no FSX planner/ATC) it has been simply awesome! But I need the FSX ATC to be "realistic" in my world.

2. Default "Situations": Not having the ability to define a custom systems setup for each flight is a pretty big issue for me. Call me spoiled by other developers, but the ability to define a default situation for the A/C systems upon entering is something that has been utilized in the FS world for quite awhile now. I understand that I can set the systems how I want and then Save in FSX and reload, but this ends up being clunky all around. I can live with what Majestic have defined as the default situation, but I would like some ability to customize as I see fit. I understand "cold and dark" is unrealistic in the real world, but I also know that sometimes the flight crew approach their aircraft and it is on GPU and sometimes they approach and it is on APU due to services available at a particular station. Ability to customize....

3. Every time I exit FSX after flying the Dash 8, it "hangs" and I have to kill it with task manager. No big deal, but still weird. My system specs are in my sig.

4. Time: This one is just a little nuisance...when setting the chronometer to "Set" and then changing it back to whatever it was before causes FSX to reload everything. If it's possible to un-tie the aircraft's chronometer from the FSX clock, that would only be a bonus :)

All in all, I can certainly appreciate the level of depth of the systems even though this is only the "Pilot" version. I have plenty of faith that Majestic will sort out all issues in due time. It is really a superb add on and immerses the pilot as only the best has. Thanks!

Adam,

Thanks for the kind words of appreciation.  The problems which you have mentioned are all being worked on.  The aircraft state issue, well that has been looked at/discussed , and at this time it will have to addressed a bit later until some of the other critical issues are have been fixed.
