News Item: Hi there,

I would like to take a moment to briefly talk about a project you may very well have heard of, it is Outerra. Outerra is a whole planet rendering engine that has been developed from the ground up by a small development team of indie developers.

The man at the face of the project whom you will hear and see the most correspondence from is Brano Kemen. He is a developer that strives for completeness when it comes to replicating/simulating the world processes and has some very ambitious plans to make this engine a platform with multiple uses.

I have been fortunate enough to help on this project primarily creating texture sets and gathering data for the upcoming biome system as well as contributing my own videos recorded directly from inside the engine portraying as many aspects of the engine in working form as possible.

This leads me to my next point and request, and that is, although this engine is currently in Alpha stage of development it is starting to take some shape in terms of some significant uses for the engine as a platform, one of these uses is of course a flight simulator platform. Now i'm not saying this will certainly be a guarantee but all feedback and correspondence does indicate the possibility of Outerra becoming a flight simulator but this only speaks to the developmental possibilities of the engine. I do not have any juristiction to advertise any specific use of the platform but can say that in its current form it utilises JSBSim and Bullet physics as well as having three aircraft available by default in the installation.

I really do think this project deserves some attention especially when, on many levels, has the traits of being a flight simulator plus the many other technologies embedded into the engine.

The website you will be able to find more about this project on is www.outerra.com. you can also view my latest video depicting some of the technologies integrated into the engine. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xfo3uGPNLd0&feature=youtu.be

I also have a channel with many other videos showing a lot of my texture work for the project.

Thank you for your time in reading this request because as a huge fan and supporter of this project It would really be great to have the wider simming community aware of this so that they too have the opportunity to support it as I am.

One final note to mention is that the alpha version does come both free (without some additional content) and at a small fee of USD (i think) to expose a few more components to enjoy. This means you then recieve build releases over time and get to experience the development. Please email me if you require further information.

Regards,

Kelvin
